Boarding Students

The Boarding and Independent Living Programs are unique to only the FICA Mbarara Campus. These programs offer more options for families who want a more comprehensive approach to education.

Background

The FICA Independent Living
Experience (FILE) begun in 2020.
It was from the structures created
by the FILE program that the
school gained momentum for the
Boarding Section.

These two programs over time
have become strong points of
endearment of the school because
of the uniqueness of the services
provided therein.

Boarding at FICA

The Boarding section was started
in 2022 for students 10 years and
above. It has since continued to
thrive. One of the unique aspects
of our boarding section is the
skilling aspect; for every single
year that a student is with us in
the boarding section, we see to
it that they gain a practical skill.
The skilling sessions typically take
place over the weekends.

How it Works

The FILE program prepares
students who are about to transit
to university to be able to live
independently and responsibly.
Some of the highlights of the
FILE include the Sunday evening
talks held by a mentoring couple,
the mentoring families to which
students are attached to, and
many others.
